If Soo-ae did love him wholly, I don't think her reaction would have been normal. (Could be easier for some people who are good at cutting off people but for others it's not that easy) Regardless if there is no love left, it's going to be hard to let go since the relarionship is based of friendship. If you look at her reactions to him, you will see that it's just that she is already used to Minhyuk being there. Soo-ae is not that really into Minhyuk.(Prolly why a lot thinks that what the author is doing doesn't work) Let's take these things into consideration: No, because I never felt that the author was aiming for that general trope that we need to feel sorry for her. Yes, in the sense that I know how bad it is to get betrayed by someone that close to you. Been there and it's not easy specially if you are the one who is reliant towards these people. I dunno if you have been in a long relationship but such ties are not easy to cut off even though it's toxic. When I first read it, I realized it was really frustrating to see but let's be honest we keep on talking about communication but the reality is it's not simple. To be honest, I beg to disagree with the other people in here saying that the author is making us feel bad for the MC.
